2010

  • February 26, 2010, the European Patent Office (EPO) has notified its decision to grant the 1st Dbait patent in Europe. With two patents granted in USA and one in Europe, DNA Therapeutics consolidates its IP assets to support its development programs.
  • February 1st, 2010, the manufacturing of the pilot batch of DT01 has been launched in USA.

  • January 12th, 2010, DNA Therapeutics has started the bioanalytical method development and validation of DT01 with an experienced CRO in Canada.

  • January 12, 2010, US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has notified its decision to grant DNA Therapeutics' second Dbait patent. This approval greatly strengthens the company's IP assets, and further secures the development of its lead product
2009
  • November 2nd, 2009, DNA Therapeutics has initiated the analytical method development of DT01 with the same CMO in USA.

  • October 23rd, 2009, Dr. Marie Dutreix, co-inventor of siDNA technology, co-founder of DNA Therapeutics, received Anthony Bernard Foundation against cancer award for her contribution in developing an innovative anticancer approach - siDNA.

  • October 1st, 2009, DNA Therapeutics has launched the cGMP manufacturing process development of DT01 with an established and experienced CMO in USA.

  • July 21th, 2009, the article entitled "Hyperactivation of DNA-PK by double-strand break mimicking molecules disorganizes DNA damage response"  was published in PLoS ONE, 4:e6298. This paper describes the mechanism of action of Dbait

  • July 17th, 2009, French public innovation promotion agency, Oséo, agrees to provide 550.000€ privileged loan for CMC development of DT01 - the optimized lead molecule selected from the family of Dbait molecules.

  • February 15th, 2009, the article entitled "Small-molecular drugs mimicking DNA damage (Dbait): a new strategy for sensitizing tumors to radiotherapy" was published in Clinical Cancer Research, 15:1308. This paper describes the Dbait molecules, their mechanisms of action and proofs of concept in several human radio-resistant tumors xenografted on nude mice.

  • January 29th, 2009, closing of DNA Therapeutics' Series A equity investment round. The investor syndicate led by SGAM SEFTI with two of the previous seed investors, Blue Medical Investments and G1J-Ile de France, was committed to invest 2.2 million EUR based on certain milestones to be met. Since June 2008, DNA Therapeutics has raised 3 million EUR (US$4 million) through its Series A and Seed rounds.

  • January 13th, 2009, US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) issued DNA Therapeutics' core siDNA patent. This first approval among the company's IP portfolio greatly strengthened its assets, and secured the development of its lead product Dbait.

2008
  • September 1st, 2008, DNA Therapeutics opened its office at 1311 Hua Neng Union Tower, 958 Lujiazuihuan Road, Pudong, 200120 Shanghai. This initiated DNA Therapeutics' strategic presence in this most vibrant and fast moving city in the world.

  • July 15th, 2008, a six private-academic partner consortium led by DNA Therapeutics was selected by the BiotecS 2008 program of the French National Agency for Research (ANR). It was eligible to €1.3 million (US$1.9 million) funding to a 3 year R&D reserach project aimed at developing new therapeutic strategy in glioblastoma combining DNA repair inhibitor (Dbait) and stereotactic irradiation ("GlioTherap").

  • June 5th, 2008, closing of the seed financing tour. The investor syndicate led by Inserm-Transfert Initiative, together with G1J-Ile de France, Blue Medical Investments and a group of international business angels, was committed to invest 800.000 EUR based on certain milestones.

2007
  • December 2007, DNA Therapeutics was assigned SME status by the European Medicines Agency (EMEA) and eligible to benefit from the provisions for administrative and financial assistance laid down in Regulation (EC) No 2049/2005.

  • February 2007, DNA Therapeutics was granted the status of "Jeune Entreprise Innovante” (Young Innovative Company status) by the French Ministry of Research & Technology and the French “IRS” which gives a 7 years tax saving benefit.

2006
  • October 2006, DNA Therapeutics received a grant from the Institut National de Cancer (French NCI).

  • July 2006, laureat at the Start-up Contest organized by French Senate, received the Grand Prize of Life Sciences from INSERM-Transfert and the trophy of French Senate - ESSEC Business School (Paris).

  • June 2006, DNA Therapeutics received the upfront payment of 400,000 euros subsidy from the Oséo-Anvar, a French government innovation agency. 

  • May 2006, the inception of DNA Therapeutics S.A.

2005
  • October 2005, DNA Therapeutics' founder team received a grant from French national agency for research (ANR) for the maturation of siDNA technology.

  • June 2005, 2nd special prize of the “concours national d’aide à la creation d’entreprises de technologies innovantes”, in the category “creation & development”.

2004
  • June 2004, award of the “concours national d’aide à la creation d’entreprises de technologies innovantes”, in the category “emergence"
